OVERVIEW

Lisbon and Belém One-Day Tour

Experience the best of Lisbon and Belém on this enriching one-day tour, perfect for discovering Portugal's vibrant history, iconic landmarks, and unique culture. From ancient neighbourhoods to monumental architecture, this tour offers a seamless blend of exploration and relaxation.

Morning: Lisbon Highlights

Begin your day in the heart of Lisbon with a visit to the historic neighbourhood of Alfama, the city’s oldest district. Wander through its narrow, cobblestone streets, filled with colourful houses and lively cafés. Stop at a traditional miradouro (viewpoint) such as Miradouro da Senhora do Monte or Portas do Sol for stunning panoramic views of the city and the Tagus River.

Continue to Baixa, Lisbon’s downtown area, where you’ll explore landmarks like Praça do Comércio, a grand waterfront square, and Rossio Square, known for its wave-patterned pavement. Walk along Rua Augusta, a lively pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants, and pass under the majestic Arco da Rua Augusta.

Afternoon: Discover Belém

Head to Belém, a district rich in maritime history. Begin with a visit to Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its intricate Manueline architecture. Nearby, the iconic Belém Tower awaits, a symbol of Portugal’s Age of Discovery.

Pause at the Monument to the Discoveries (Padrão dos Descobrimentos), honouring Portugal’s explorers who expanded the known world.

Indulge in a sweet treat at the renowned Pastéis de Belém café, where you can savour the original pastéis de nata, a creamy custard tart that’s a must-try for visitors.

Evening: Wrap-Up in Lisbon

Return to central Lisbon for a leisurely evening. Stroll along the riverfront or relax with a glass of Portuguese wine at a local terrace.

This one-day Lisbon and Belém tour offers a perfect balance of history, culture, and culinary delights, making it an ideal way to explore two of Portugal’s most iconic areas in a single day.
